Authentication Options
This web-based application is designed to restrict access to websites to
authorized users. The Authentication Manager allows you to limit access to your
website content and search pages based on:

Usernames and passwords
-
IP address or IP address range
-
Referring URLs (i.e. incoming links from an intranet or members only
site).
Other features include:

Member and group profile management

Detailed reporting
-
Subscription and account expiration management.
The Authentication Manager was originally developed for clients of Andornot's
website and database hosting service.
It enables us to restrict access to sites that are available only as part of a
client's intranet. We have also installed it remotely on clients servers
(see CARILAW) and used it
in many web application designs to control what a user can see or access
based on their role. For example, the general public may have search-only
access, whereas a logged in user can add items to a shopping cart (see
Lincoln Center Institute ). It is an excellent management tool for your
private intranet sites or for subscription-based products.
